Arafat is dead. The popular Ivorian DeeJay reportedly died yesterday evening in a motor bike accident in his country.
The “coupe-décalé” star died at a hospital in Abidjan, as a result of the injuries he sustained from the accident.
According to reports, his bike was hit by a car driven by a journalist from Radio Côte d’Ivoire. DJ Arafat reportedly lost consciousness immediately and was rushed to the hospital but sadly didn’t survive the incident.
The news of his death was confirmed by Nigerian singer Davido who posted a photo of himself and Dj Arafat on his Instagram page with the caption
“RIP YOROBO, I LOVE YOU”
Who is DJ Arafat?
Since the report of his demise broke out, most people across Africa have been asking the question Who is DJ Arafat?
According to WikiPedia, DJ Arafat, or Arafat Muana, born January 26, 1986 as Ange Didier Huon), an ex-disc jockey in “Shangaï” on Princess Street (Rue Princesse, located in Yopougon, Ivory Coast), was an Ivorian DJ and singer, who makes music of the Coupé-Décalé genre.
He is the son of Tina Glamour, also an artist, and the deceased musician Houon Pierre. He was considered one of the most popular African artist in Francophone countries around the world.
DJ Arafat is one of the first in his country Ivory Coast to obtain 1 million views in less than a day on his song ‘Moto Moto’. He died on August 12, 2019 in a fatal motorcycle accident in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
