Some passengers have been hospitalised after two BRT buses crashed into each other during rush-hour in Lagos on Monday morning.
The accident occurred this early morning 2nd September 2019, on BRT lane at isolo towards Ajegunle and the two busses reportedly tried avoiding a reckless motor bike that plied the designated BRT lane.
One of the Witnesses said that the accident occurred at about 7:00 a.m. at Asolo Bus-Stop, near Majidun River, along the busy Ikorodu Road. “The collision left several passengers injured and the two drivers of the two buses are in critical condition. “All victims have been taken to a nearby public health facility by Lagos emergency officials.” “The reckless bike man should be blamed heavily for the accident”
The accident has triggered a long line of traffic jam for residents streaming from Ikorodu and nearby neighbourhoods into downtown Lagos for work.
A statement by the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) reads;
“An accident involving two high capacity buses on the BRT corridor at Asolo. Traffic building up both ways due to onlookers. Recovery already ongoing,” the traffic agency posted on Twitter
